Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
This policy explains how we look after your personal information – what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This policy applies when you use our website or work with us. Our website contains links to other websites – we are not responsible for their privacy practices, so it is worth checking their own policies before sharing any personal information.
2. Who We Are
Native Multimedia Ltd (company registration number 05753761) is a design, marketing, and media company offering creative and digital services – including design, web development, marketing, film, and photography – primarily for ecclesiastical clients such as Catholic clergy, monastic communities, and academics. We also develop products focused on church visitor and tourist resources.
Contact details:
Native Multimedia Ltd
Address: Cottage Office, Buckfast Abbey, Buckfast, Devon, TQ11 0EE
Email: hello@nativemultimedia.co.uk
Website: www.nativemultimedia.co.uk
Depending on the nature of our engagement, Native Multimedia Ltd may act as a data controller (when we collect and process your personal data for our own business purposes) or as a data processor (when we handle personal data on behalf of our clients as part of a project). Where we act as a data processor, the client remains the data controller.
3. What Information We Collect
Information you provide to us:
Your name
Your email address
Details about your project or enquiry
Any other information you choose to share when contacting us via our website contact form, by email, or through social media
Information collected automatically:
Anonymised website usage data through Framer Analytics. This does not identify you personally and does not use cookies or generate persistent identifiers, so no cookie consent banner is required.
We do not use any third-party analytics tools, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies on our website. If we add any third-party services in the future that use cookies, we will update this policy and implement an appropriate consent mechanism.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:
Respond to your enquiries and project requests
Deliver and manage our design, marketing, and media services
Communicate with you about ongoing projects (such as updates, feedback, and scheduling)
Improve our services based on feedback
We do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling using your personal data.
Where you are an existing client, we may contact you about products and services similar to those we have previously provided, in line with the soft opt-in provisions of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You will always have the option to unsubscribe. For all other marketing, we will only contact you with your explicit consent.
We may use finished project work – including film and photography – in our portfolio and promotional materials, on the basis of our legitimate interests in promoting our services. Where this work features identifiable individuals, we obtain their consent at the point of production.
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
UK GDPR requires us to have a legal reason for using your personal data. Here are the ones that apply to our work.
Contract: Where processing is necessary to provide the services you have requested, or to take steps before entering into a contract with you.
Legitimate interests: Where we have a genuine business reason to process your data – such as responding to enquiries, managing client relationships, or improving our services – provided this does not override your rights and freedoms.
Consent: Where you have given us clear permission to contact you for a specific purpose, such as marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
Some of our work – particularly film, photography, and website content for religious communities – may involve data that reveals religious belief, which is a special category under UK GDPR. Where we process this type of data, we do so on the basis that it has been manifestly made public by the individual, or with their explicit consent.
6. Who Has Access to Your Data
Your personal data is accessible only to the team within Native Multimedia Ltd who need it to carry out their work. This includes subcontractors such as programmers and printers, who work under our direction as part of the wider team and do not independently process personal data.
The following third-party services may also process your data on our behalf:
Framer B.V. – We use Framer to build and host websites. Its built-in analytics are anonymised, do not use cookies, and do not generate persistent identifiers. You can review Framer’s privacy practices at framer.com/legal/privacy-statement.
Apple iCloud – We use Apple’s iCloud service to store contact details and other business data.
Claude (Anthropic) – We may use AI-assisted tools as part of our work, primarily for drafting text and planning documents. This may involve client-supplied content containing personal data. Anthropic acts as a data processor on our behalf. You can review Anthropic’s privacy practices at anthropic.com/privacy.
If we begin using additional third-party services that process personal data, we will update this policy accordingly.
7. Data Storage and Retention
Your personal data may be stored across our business email system (hosted on our own server), Apple iCloud, local computers, and external storage devices. We take appropriate measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
We retain your personal data for as long as is reasonably necessary for our ongoing business relationship, to fulfil our legal obligations, and for our legitimate business purposes. When your data is no longer needed, we delete it.
Where a website is hosted on a third-party platform, copies of personal data may be retained by the platform for a time after removal.
For project files such as raw footage and unedited photographs, we typically retain these for 12 months after delivery of the final work, after which they are deleted.
8. International Data Transfers
Framer B.V. is incorporated in the Netherlands but hosts all services on AWS infrastructure in the United States. CloudFront distributes cached content globally, but the origin infrastructure is US-based. The UK adequacy decision for EEA transfers does not apply because data is hosted in the US, not the EEA. As a Dutch company, Framer B.V. is not eligible to self-certify under the UK–US Data Bridge. The transfer mechanism for UK users is Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in Framer’s Data Processing Addendum (Section 6.2), adapted for UK GDPR with England and Wales governing law and London jurisdiction.
Apple and Anthropic are based in the United States. Neither has self-certified under the UK–US Data Bridge. Transfers are governed by standard contractual clauses put in place by the relevant service provider.
9. Data Processing on Behalf of Clients
In some cases, we handle personal data on behalf of our clients as part of a project – for example, when managing website content, communications, or digital assets that contain personal data belonging to the client’s data subjects.
Where we act in this capacity, we do so as a data processor. The client remains the data controller and is responsible for ensuring there is a lawful basis for the processing. Our handling of such data is governed by a Data Processing Agreement, put in place where required.
10. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data:
Right of access – You can request a copy of the personal data we have about you.
Right to rectification – You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure – You can request that we delete your personal data where there is no compelling reason for us to continue processing it.
Right to restrict processing – You can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability – You can request your data in a structured, commonly used format.
Right to object – You can object to us processing your data where we are relying on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@nativemultimedia.co.uk or write to us at the address above. We will respond within one month. There is no fee.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
Website: ico.org.uk
Phone: 0303 123 1113
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. The latest version will always be available on our website, and the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised accordingly.
13. Contact
If you have any questions about this policy or how we look after your personal data, we would be happy to hear from you.
