Parkminster

St Hugh's Charterhouse, Parkminster, is the only Carthusian monastery in the UK. Founded in 1873 in West Sussex, it is home to a small community of monks living in solitude, following a tradition passed down uninterrupted for over 900 years.

“Since its creation in 1999, St Hugh's Charterhouse's website has been redesigned several times. Each time, Michael Luke Davies has achieved the impossible, by presenting with aptness and simplicity, poetry and beauty, what is mysterious and ineffable in our monastic life.”

Overview

As with many of our clients the key reason for our involvement is to educate and discern vocations. The Carthusians live in strict enclosure, so the website offers an insight into what otherwise would be a secret and hidden life.
